Hosting
We develop, test and obtain client approval
for all web projects at our in-office staging facility. It
mirrors our production environment and provides the ability
to fully test and review a site prior to launch.
Once a site or solution is approved (and assuming
you want us to provide hosting services) we send it to our
co-location facility at AT&T in Redwood City. AT&T
is a Tier One provider of scalable, high-performance Internet
solutions for the corporate and commercial markets. We have
a dedicated and guaranteed 100 megabit (equal to over 60
T-1 lines!) connection to the Internet at AT&T.
Our production routers, web, mail, DNS, and
UniFide application servers all run the Red Hat Linux
operating system. Linux provides unsurpassed robustness and
security for our production environment. We build and maintain
all our own servers to ensure maximum performance for our
clients.
We run backups daily and use a modified "Tower
of Hanoi" backup strategy for snapshots of site status
at daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly intervals. Production
data resides on four different physical systems. Rather than
using tape, all data is stored on hard drives to minimize
recovery time should a disaster occur. Our premium hosting
environment also offers automatic failover. If a web server
should crash, the failover system automatically assumes the
identity of the failed service.
