Solid Information Technology is the
pioneer of a new approach to managing data --one that
focuses on a data management platform for highly distributed
applications. Solid provides a robust, high performance
platform that delivers intelligence into embedded
devices and throughout distributed applications including:

Solid is headquartered in Mountain View, with offices
in the United States, Europe, and Japan. Clients include
industry giants Avaya, Hewlett-Packard, Nokia, and
Nortel, and innovative start-ups like Turin Networks,
Celox Networks, and Lantern Communications.
Corporate Site Development
Solid’s programming staff originally built their
own Java-based content management system. The system
became unsustainable when the programmers left the
company. Our initial engagement was to evaluate the
situation and suggest solutions, and we recommended
converting the site into flat HTML site, www.solidtech.com,
until their content management needs could be fully
quantified. After a year of research, Solid is now
ready to resurrect a template-based site, and they
have selected our XML content management tool UniDox.
We host the site on a dedicated server at our
AT&T co-location facility.
Satellite Site
We believe that one of the best ways to build leadership
on the Web is to create satellite sites that feature
targeted content, discussion and news about very specific
subjects. Solid agrees, and we have recently completed
their satellite site, www.distributeddatamanagement.com.
The site is rich with links, white papers, and event
calendars, demonstrating Solid’s leadership
in the field. In addition, it serves as a magnet for
search engine spiders, drawing additional traffic
to the corporate site in this prime example of search
engine marketing.
Search Engine Marketing
Solid’s marketplace is small, competitive, and esoteric.
They need to be sure potential customers know about
them and their leading products any time they search
on the Web. We have increased Solid’s traffic and
sales leads significantly through search engine optimization
and marketing tactics. In addition to the satellite
site described above, we have helped Solid configure
their corporate site, and embarked on a search term
purchase program. Where before relevant search term
searches didn’t list Solid within the first four pages,
they now show up within the first four listings on
the first page.
