How to configure Outlook Express 4

  1. Open Outlook Express.

  2. From the Tools menu, choose Accounts.


    3.  
  3. Click on the Mail tab.

    4.  
  4. Select the Your Domain mail account in the list.

    5.  
  5. Click the Properties button.


    6.  
  6. Click on the General tab.

    7.  
  7. In the Mail account box, type Your Domain.

    8.  
  8. In the Name box, type your name.

    9.  
  9. In the E-mail address box, type your email address.

  10. Click on the Servers tab.

  11. In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) box, type the SMTP mail server name specific to your domain (i.e. smtp.pacbell.net for pacbell).

  12. In the Incoming mail (POP3) box, type the POP3 mail server name specific to your domain (i.e. mail.freerun.com for Freerun).

  13. Confirm that the My incoming server is a box contains POP3.

  14. Click the Log on using radio button in the Incoming Mail Server area.

  15. In the Account name box, type your email address.

    16.  
  16. In the Password box, type your password.


    17.  
  17. Click on the Connection tab.

    18.  
  18. Click the Connect using my phone line radio button in the Connection area.

    19.  
  19. Click the down arrow on the Use the following Dial-Up Networking connection drop-down list and choose your username.
  20. Click the OK button.


    21.  
  21. Click the Close button.

    You have successfully configured Outlook Express.
