How to configure Outlook 98

  1. Open Outlook 98.

  2. From the Tools menu, choose Services.

  3. Click the Add button.


    4.  
  4. Select Internet Email in the list.

    5.  
  5. Click the OK button.


    6.  
  6. Click on the Services tab.

    7.  
  7. Select Internet E-mail in the list.

    8.  
  8. Click the Properties button.


    9.  
  9. In the Mail Account field, type a name for your email account (i.e. Freerun).

    10.  
  10. In the Name field, type your full name.

    11.  
  11. In the E-mail field, type your email address.


    12.  
  12. Click on the Servers tab.

    13.  
  13. In the Incoming mail (POP3) field, type the POP3 mail server name specific to your domain (i.e. mail.freerun.com for Freerun).

  14. In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) field, type the SMTP mail server name specific to your domain (i.e. smtp.pacbell.net for pacbell).

  15. In the Account name field, type your username.

  16. In the Password field, type your password.

  17. Click on the Connection tab.

  18. Click the Connect using my phone line radio button in the Connection area.

  19. Click the down arrow on the Use the following Dial-Up Networking connection drop-down list and choose your connection.

  20. Click the OK button.


    21.  
  21. Click the OK button.

    You have successfully configured Outlook 98. Your changes will take effect once you log off and restart Outlook 98.
