How to Configure Netscape Messenger 4.04-4.08

  1. Open Netscape Communicator 4.0x.

  2. From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
     

  3. Click the plus sign next to Mail & Groups so that its contents are shown.

  4. Click the Identity item.

    5.  
  5. In the Your name field, type your full name.

    6.  
  6. In the Email address field, type your email address.


    7.  
  7. Click the Mail Server item.

    8.  
  8. In the Mail server user name field, type your email address.

    9.  
  9. In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server field, type the SMTP server name specific to your domain (i.e. smtp.pacbell.net for pacbell).

    10.  
  10. In the Incoming mail server field, type the POP3 server name specific to your domain (i.e. mail.freerun.com for Freerun).

    11.  
  11. Click the OK button.

    You have just successfully configured your email program.
